Taylah’s 1995 HZJ75

Year: 1995

Model: HZJ75 series

Kilometers: 276 455

Tell us a little about yourself?

I’m Tay, 26 & I live on the Central Coast of NSW. I was raised in a 80 series by parents who told stories of travelling in their HJ47. Before I owned the Troopy I had a 98 Sierra which was a little beast but there was no doubt a Troopy was always on the horizon. I love an adventure & am always up for anything.

When you got the Troopy, is there any history behind it?

I’ve had this Troop since 2020 and Yeah! Im the fourth owner. It started out in a national park in WA, they sold it to an old fella named Ron who took immaculate care of it (I’m talking rubber, soft vinyl etc between every bolt & surface), Ron sold it to a mate of mine Mitch, who brought it to the east coast then sold it to me. The things a unicorn, low kms & like new, way too good to pass up!!

What do you use your Troopy for?

Everything! Up until a couple weeks back I had the rear bench seats so it was an absolute bus. But everything from beach drives, to hauling dive gear, camping, bush tracks, picking up marketplace buys. I’ve just now finally started on a rear fit out getting ready to start the lap in the new year.

First, favourite and future mod?

She’s pretty well stock as a rock, other than a couple muddies, it’s everything I need. I am about to put some extended shackles on & set up the solar etc.

What is your favourite memory in Troop?

Driving Ngkala Rocks on Fraser was a dream, went through solo to the north end of the island cheering & smiling up the whole beach.

Sketchiest moment?

Almost rolling it in Catho the first time I took it wheeling or accidentally doing the Killingworth powerlines climb in 2wd.

Favourite camp/4wd spot?

Awinya Creek, West Fraser Island.
